CARS received word of a dog hit by a car. X-rays revealed that her left rear femur was badly broken. At first, it appeared that her leg would have to be amputated. However, one of our favorite vets saved the day! Her latest x-rays show that she has healed quickly from a difficult surgery.
We soon discovered that Phoenix was hearing impaired, not uncommon for blue-eyed pit mixes.
Because of her unusual circumstances, CARS determined that she would have to go to a special home and be an indoor dog.
As a result, she fostered with CARS chairperson Martha for four months. In the meantime, an anonymous CARS supporter contacted us and volunteered to cover her adoption fee.
Now, Phoenix has found her furever home! She can run and play with her new brothers and sisters and new best friend, Murray the bulldog.
